Niles Honors Girl Scouts

They perform flag ceremony and pose for photos with mayor and trustees.

A few dozen Girl Scouts from Niles-area troops came to the Niles Village Board meeting Tuesday to perform a flag ceremony and display a banner commemorating the 100-year anniversary of Girl Scouting. 

Hundreds of Girl Scouts had held a Promise Circle two weeks earlier, on March 12, to commemorate the actual day of the anniversary. They sang songs and recited a pledge.

The Scouts posed for photos with Mayor Robert Callero and Trustees Louella Preston and Rosemary Palicki, who were both Girl Scouts.
