Witch Way? Costumed Nelson School Students Parade on Halloween

Parents with blue hair and wearing various costumes sat in an inner circle and an outer semi-circle in Nelson School's gym Thursday, watching their children parade around a horsetrack-type oval showing off their Halloween costumes.

Even the teachers got in on the act at the Niles school in East Maine Elementary District 63, with several dressed as various Starbucks frothy drinks, complete with a green straw on their heads. One caped educator wore a t-shirt alluding to her superpowers as a teacher.

Each teacher led his or her students in the parade while parents kept the cameras going. After it was over, children went back to their classrooms and enjoyed Halloween parties until dismissal.
