12 Days of Christmas Cookies: Chocolate Chip

That's right, we're featuring a different Christmas cookie recipe on Morton Grove Patch for 12 straight days, ending just before Christmas Eve. 

Today's recipe is for Chocolate Chip Cookies. Here's how to make them:

Ingredients

1/3 cup and 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon butter

1/3 cup and 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon brown sugar

1/3 cup and 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon white sugar

7/8 eggs

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup and 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup and 1 teaspoon white chocolate chips

1/4 cup and 1 teaspoon milk chocolate chips

1/4 cup and 1 teaspoon semisweet chocolate chips

3 tablespoons and 3/4 teaspoon chopped walnuts

2 tablespoons and 3/4 teaspoon chopped pecans

2 tablespoons and 3/4 teaspoon chopped almonds

Directions

 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

2. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Mix in the eggs and vanilla.

3. Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; add to butter mixture, and stir until just blended.

4. With a large wooden spoon, stir in the white, milk, and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Stir in the walnuts, pecans, and almonds.

5. Drop dough by heaping spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.

6. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven.

7. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
