Secrets of the Chamber

You think you know the Chamber? Think again.

At Monday's Economic Development Commission meeting, I was surprised to learn that the average Morton Grove resident or business owner knows very little about what the Chamber does for our Village.

Chamber membership means a lot more than one might think. First of all, according to a national study by the Schapiro Group, consumers are 63% more likely to buy from Chamber members. This community recognition is just one of many benefits.

You may have noticed the business directory in the middle of the recently published Morton Grove Community Guide. All Chamber members are listed in this biannual publication and also in the Shop Morton Grove Brochure which is mailed biennially. Chamber members have the exclusive right to advertise in these periodicals, which gives them an invaluable and inexpensive competitive advantage.

We are also a great referral network for the Community via telephone calls and also through our Website, www.mgcci.org. Members can also post promotions on our website  which drives in local traffic.

We host several great networking events, which allow our members to showcase themselves to other Community and Business leaders, including our monthly Business After Hours and Women's Power lunches and our Annual Golf Outing and Awards Dinner.
