Ghouls And Boys Haunt Niles Park District Halloween Parade, Party

As if the costumes didn't create fantasy enough, a magician made things appear out of nothing.

A cupcake, a Ninja turtle, an astronaut, a hippie, a vampiress. That's a partial list of the costumed creatures who attended a Halloween event Saturday.

The assortment of fantasy people and creatures, all on the short side, assembled with their parents at Niles' Oak Park and marched in a parade to on a sunny, pleasant October day.

Once at Grennan Heights, they participated in a party in the gym, which was decorated with witches, pumpkins, spiders and the like. It had games and booths set up throughout. Kids played games and won prizes, and about halfway through the party, a magician appeared, waving his wand and creating his own brand of magic.
