Seven Wonders of Morton Grove Named

Awards presentation will be held tonight during the Morton Grove Village Board meeting.

The Forest Preserve, the and the are just three of the winning "Seven Wonders of Morton Grove" voted upon by town residents in September. In addition, the , the Doughboy Statue in front of the library, the Morton Grove Praire (located behind ) and the round out the top seven "wonders" in this village.

The Seven Wonders project, launched by the Morton Grove Community Relations Committee as a way to build awareness about unique aspects of the village, was held during the months of August and September. Residents and people who work in or visit Morton Grove were invited to nominate noteworthy public areas such as buildings, parks or businesses. The entries with multiple nominations - some 19 in all - were placed on a final ballot for online voting.

When the voting was completed last Monday, more than 150 people had cast ballots to nominate the seven winners. 

A short awards presentation for the winning Seven Wonders will take place at the Morton Grove Village Board meeting, to be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24.
