Apples, Beans, Corn and Dancing, the ABCDs of the Market this week!

Food, dancing and fun at the market this week!

Fruits and veggies are in full harvest now at the Morton Grove Farmers' Market. Apples are ready for picking, a few early varieties are here and the taste straight from the trees can't be beat. Beans, beets, blueberris, corn, cucumbers, garlic, onions, squash, zuchini and more are ready for you at the market this Saturday from 8am to 12pm at 6210 Dempster Street.

In addition to your grocery list, enjoy a hearty breakfast and lunch with English banger sandwiches at Jolly Posh, fresh spinach croissants at Sweety Pies, blueberry donuts at Maier's Bakery, coffee at Super Cup, Indian cuisine at Tava, and new this week, Tamales Express! As you eat your way through the market, take time to stop and shop such unique items as alpaca knit ponchos, hand made soaps and beaded jewlery.

Take a break from all of that and enjoy some toe tappin' foot stompin' fun with the Glenview Square Dancers! Don't forget to stop by the Kiddie Corner for free face painting, plant-a-seed craft and story time at 9am with Miss Laura.

I was finding that we would get a lot of people guessing forRead More some restaurants (usually when there was a payoff of free pizza), and not very many people entering for other restaurants. Do you think we should bring them back? I'm open to people's opinions. --Pam

Hi Pam, Yes, I thought it would be great if we brought it back. For me personally, whenever I wouldRead More seed the contest on my Twitter timeline, I would immediately go to the site. And if there is an offer of free food even better. It does not even necessarily be a restaurant as it can also be any other type of business, i.e., bakery, retail, gym, car services, etc.
