Police Explorer Recruitment Event

The Morton Grove Police Department is excited to offer our Police Explorer program, designed for energetic young adults from 14 to 21 years of ages who may be interested in a law enforcement career, or who want to volunteer to assist the Police Department in various functions. Development of character, good citizenship, patriotism, teamwork and leadership are foundational features of our program. The Morton Grove Police Explorer program will provide a comprehensive program of training, competition, service and practical skills. Members will develop an awareness of the purpose and mission of American Law Enforcement principles, and will receive training in police related topics which include: First Aid and CPR; arrest, search and seizure procedures; building searches; evidence work; traffic enforcement procedures; traffic and crowd control; crime prevention techniques; defensive tactics; and many police related operations. MGPD Explorers will also attend various community events and help with tasks such as traffic direction, pedestrian & parking control, crime prevention assistance, etc. In addition to learning civic responsibilities through productive activity, MGPD Explorer members will receive uniforms and abide by our dress code. You do not need to be a resident of Morton Grove to participate. An informational and recruitment meeting on June 18, 2013, at 6:00pm at the Morton Grove Police Department, 6101 Capulina Ave, Morton Grove, IL 60053. Pizza and refreshments will be served; bring a friend!
