Holiday Shopping Advice from Experts

Use Consumer Reports Online through the Morton Grove Public Library for independent third party reviews on cars, tech devices, kitchen appliances and more!

Black Friday and Cyber Monday may be over for this year, but many people have a good amount of holiday shopping left to do.  Most know what gifts they want to get for their loved ones, but may not know where to start.  What’s so smart about Smart TVs?  What are the benefits of a hybrid car versus electric?  Which new laptops can double as tablet PCs?

Consumer Reports Online through the Morton Grove Public Library will allow you to search through any number of products and consumer reviews to figure out which GPS, blender, or cell phone might be the right fit.  As a well-respected third party review organization, Consumer Reports allows you to compare similar products side-by-side, read consumer reviews, and sometimes even watch videos of the products being tested.  Consumer Reports magazines are also available to read at MGPL.

To access Consumer Reports Online, visit the library’s A-Z list of premium online resources at http://www.mgpl.org/research/online-resourcesaz/.  Select Consumer Reports.org, and enter your library card number.  This resource is only available in the Morton Grove Public Library or at home with an MGPL card.
