Tech Fest 2012

Back again at Morton Grove Public Library, Tech Fest demonstrates the future of technology in the library and in your life.

Technology Librarians at Morton Grove Public Library are gearing up for the Third Annual Tech Fest, happening this Saturday, Oct. 20th from 11am – 2pm.  This year’s activities include returning favorites like an e-reader “petting zoo” and finding helpful or entertaining apps for your smartphone or tablet.

New additions to the program are sure to excite all ages.  Children will have the opportunity to help build a “BristleBot” – a miniature robot built from a toothbrush!  Teams will race BristleBots down a racetrack to see whose robot is fastest.  Librarians will be demonstrating the Library’s new website and scanner.  If you’ve ever been curious about your family history, MGPL’s genealogy guru will be available to help you dig up your family’s roots.

Also featured this year will be a demonstration of Augmented Reality.  Learn how to use your smartphone or tablet to bring ads, newspapers, or even your family photos to life!
