Niles Library Night Out & More!

In honor of National Library Week, the Niles Public Library invites patrons to a fun filled week of programs and events during the week of April 14, 2013.

In honor of National Library Week, the Niles Public Library invites patrons to a fun filled week of programs and events including Library Night Out, Shakespeare Project of Chicago Season Finale Performance, Bookmark Contest Display, and much more during the week of April 14, 2013.

Library Night Out on Thurs., Apr. 18: The Niles Public Library is celebrating National Library Week by hosting its inaugural Library Night Out in the Library’s large meeting room. From 6-6:45pm, patrons will enjoy a pizza party sponsored by Home Run Inn Pizza and Coca-Cola. This is our way of saying “thank you” for your support. While supplies last. At 7pm, meet the Frog Lady and over 20 live animals that participants will get to touch and meet up close.

Shakespeare Theatrical Reading on Fri., Apr. 19: The Shakespeare Project of Chicago performs their season finale performance at 6:45pm (Introduction), 7pm (Showtime). The Reign of King Edward III will be presented in a theatrical reading format by professional actors. Reserve your seat by calling 847-663-1234 or online at nileslibrary.org/calendar.

National Pet Month Photo Contest: Throughout the month of April, email a photo to svasilic@nileslibrary.org with your pet(s) celebrating National Library Week with a book, an ereader, or any other creative idea that celebrates libraries. A photo gallery is posted on the Niles Public Library Facebook page, www.facebook.com/nilespubliclibrary with all entries.

Bookmark Contest Display starts Sun., Apr. 21: Nearly 800 local students in grades K-12 entered our Annual Bookmark Contest. On Sun., Apr. 21 at 2pm, Terri Murphy, Artist and Illustrator, will present, followed by a ceremony honoring our winners and honorable mentions, and then refreshments! All bookmark entries will be up for display in Youth Services.
