Linda Gault Smith died Thursday after a fight with cancer, the Journal & Topics reports.
Long-time Niles District 219 School Board member Linda Gault Smith has passed away, the Journal & Topics reports.
Smith died on Thursday, July 18 after fighting cancer for several years. She had been in remission and was active on the school board until her passing. Smith was elected to the board in 2001. Her replacement will be appointed no later than Aug. 26, and those interested in the position are asked to submit applications to the superintendent’s office by Aug. 5, the newspaper reports.
