Land of Lakes Choirboys concert at St. John Brebeuf A Big Hit

The Land of Lakes Choirboys concert on June 17 was very well-received by an estimated 350, according to Marek Rachelski, Music Director at St. John Brebeuf (SJB) Parish where the concert was held.

He noted, "the boys delighted our audience with music selections from folks songs based upon Native American and South African melodies to new contemporary classical compositions".

One of the highlights included a selection sung from different corners of the church which created a feeling of being in the outdoors surrounded by nature. The Choirboys thanked the audience personally by shaking hands with all while singing "Thank You Very Much" from Scrooge.

Choir members receive training twice each week in their home of Elk River MN, with opportunities for performance through the month and tours in the summer. SJB was the second stop on this summer's tour which started in Green Bay, WI, and continues throughout the eastern and southern parts of the United States. They have been invited to return to SJB next year before their trip to Alaska.

Their philosophy: Music is a gift within us. We all have a voice needing to be heard. The Land of Lakes Choirboys works with each of its choristers to help them develop their musical and leadership skills that will last a lifetime, helping them to become contributors to society. We strive to develop boys through the discipline of music.
