New Girl In Town Blogs About Life In Evanston

Welcome to town, Lisa Degliantoni (a.k.a. Evanston Newbie)!

If you’ve ever wondered what bloggers do, check out this one written by Lisa Degliantoni, a self-proclaimed Evanston Newbie.  Degliantoni and her family moved here this past summer from El Paso, Texas, and her blog captures snippets of their new life here in town.

What I like most about the blog is its appeal to a range of readers. I’m certain Degliantoni’s friends in El Paso get a good taste of what her Evanston life is like; additionally, folks like me (who’ve lived here for many years) get to see the city through a whole new lens.  And, Degliantoni writes in an honest, succinct style which I really appreciate.

Degliantoni's blog demonstrates the fact that blogs are far more than personal diaries laid open to the eyes of web surfers: great blogs are vehicles which share information in an informal, approachable way, and Degliantoni does it beautifully.

Welcome to town, Lisa (and family). Can't wait to read more.

Though I do believe life here in Evanston is great(and I've been here 18 years), I was so disheartened by the racist individual I encountered this morning standing in front of my 1.5 million plus home. When people walk around hating others, they ruin it for everyone. I don't know where this person just landed from but you and others like YOU don't belong. We are here to stay baby girl. Be careful who and how you judge and if I want to let my dog urinate on my lawn, guess what, I can do this. I can also do this at my other home. No room for people like you here in Evanston. Go as far away as you can.
