Summit Helps Area Seniors Host Record-Setting Event

Nearly 200 seniors from eight Catholic parishes from around the area came together last week for fun, entertainment and good networking. The event partially sponsored by The Summit of Uptown, Park Ridge, was started by Father Steve Kanonik of St. Juliana, Edison Park, under the Deanery which he oversees on behalf of the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Here, l to r, are Lucille Dretlein from the host parish, Immaculate Conception; Irene Sawka, Summit of Uptown  Administrator presenting Mary LaValle  a $50 gift card to CARLUCCI’S of Rosemont; Father Kanonik, Pastor of St Juliana; and entertainer Tom Stanfield who played popular music from several decades on the electric keyboard and other instruments.  

Participating parishes in the record setting event  included St. John Brebeuf, Immaculate Conception, Queen of All Saints, St. Juliana, St. Monica, St. Tarcissus, St. Thecla, and St. Cornelius.
