In an article in the Morton Grove Champion it is related how the village board unanimously approved the hiring of a political crony of Barack Obama to lobby for the sum of $4,000 per month plus expenses.
Sadly, it seems as though this mayor's answer to every problem is to throw taxpayers money at it and hope that something will change.
$48,000 per year plus expenses to schmooze legislators... and the board unanimously approved this???
In the article, DiMaria states that "it's a small amount of our budget for a pretty big return". That statement is interesting... wrong, but interesting.
We have been committed to spend the money up front and there is no return at this point.
