$250 Worth Of Bedding Concealed And Stolen

A woman was stopped after allegedly concealing a comforter on herself. Arrest information is supplied by the Niles Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

Jessica Butler, 23, of Mount Prospect was charged with retail theft Feb. 20 after a security agent for a store at Golf Mill Shopping Center observed her selecting a comforter and curtains worth $250, police said. She concealed the comforter on her person and put the curtains in her purse, according to the report, and left the store without paying for them. Her court date is March 12 in the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts.

Ross W. Anderson, 52, and Richard W. Burton, 63, both of Batavia, were charged with retail theft Feb. 19 when a security agent for a retail store said they concealed a water filter, valve and nozzle, with a combined value of $209.99, and left the store without paying, according to police. Their court date is April 9.

Shamsheer-Singh Chauhan, 46, of Niles was charged with domestic battery Feb. 19 after Niles police said they responded to a young girl's call that her mother had been hurt. The mother later told police that the offender became angry when she was trying to speak to him while he was watching TV and threw a salt shaker at her, striking her in the head, according to the report. Her daughter called 911 when she saw her mother was bleeding, police said. The woman refused medical attention, and an evidence technician photographed her injuries. Chauhan's court date was Feb. 27.
