33 Fake Rx's Written In Doctor's Name, Police Say
And in another incident, a man violated an order of protection. An arrest is merely an accusation and not evidence of a conviction.
A doctor with offices in the 7900 block of Milwaukee Avenue contacted police Jan. 25 to say she got a phone call from a Chicago pharmacy notifying her that they had received 33 electronic prescriptions for narcotics from her office, according to the report. The prescriptions had the correct identifying information for the doctor and were written to several different patients' names. The doctor told the pharmacy she had not written them, police said. She called the Drug Enforcement Agency and left a message, then contacted the Illinois Department of Medical Regulation, which advised her to make a police report. Police contacted the DEA and recorded a report.
Man charged with driving on a suspended license

James Mitts, 26, of Chicago was charged Jan. 26 just after midnight with driving on a suspended driver's license. Police observed Mitts drive westbound on Touhy, and turn south on Milwaukee Avenue without using a turn signal, they said. Police stopped his vehicle and asked for a driver's license, but Mitts said he did not have one, according to the report. When police checked a database, it said his license was suspended. His court date is Feb. 21.
Woman charges order of protection violated

On Jan. 23, a Niles woman, 44, reported a violation of an order of protection to Niles police. The order is enforced against a 43-year-old Des Plaines man. It states he is not to contact the woman by any means, including through a third party. Police said the offender's sister contacted the Niles woman on Jan. 20 to retrieve her brother's personal items. Both the woman and Niles police informed the sister of the order of protection. The victim wanted the report as a matter of record.
Suspicious person report results in warrant arrest
After police received a report of a suspicious subject at about 2:45 p.m. Jan 25 at Howard and Nordica Streets, police located 20-year-old man, Leonard W. Reinebach, who was charged with disorderly conduct. Police also said he had a Cook County warrant for his arrest, and took him into custody. His court date is Feb. 13.
