80-Year-Old Man Solicits 17-Year-Old Girl

He agreed online to pay for a sexual act. An arrest is merely an accusation and not evidence of conviction.

Allen M. Abrahms, 80, of Wilmette was charged Wednesday just before 10 p.m. with solicitation of a sexual act. Police were conducting surveillance for prostitution at an address in the 6400 block of Touhy. The offender was known to police, they said, and Niles police were investigating jointly with Skokie police, in reference to a similar case.

After observing Abrahms enter a motel room, Niles police said, they knocked on the door and spoke to both him and the 17-year-old girl, from Chicago, present. They learned Abrahms had made contact with the girl online, called her and agreed to pay a sum of money for a sexual act, according to the police report. He arrived at the motel with the intent of having sex in exchange for money, police said.
