93-Year-Old Is Victim of Home Invasion

The offenders entered through an unlocked door of the home on Greenwood.

An elderly couple who live in the 8800 block of Greenwood, Niles, suffered a home invasion on June 29 at about 5 p.m., according to Niles police.

A group of men in their thirties entered the home of a 93-year-old man and his 89-year-old wife and began pushing the victims.

They ordered them to sit down while they began searching for items of value in the home, in the 8800 block of Greenwood, Niles.

The offenders fled northbound on Greenwood in a vehicle, but police don't have a description of it.

Sgt. Robert Tornabene of the Niles Police Department said he could not comment on whether the offenders displayed any weapons during the incident, whether anything of value was taken, or how long the intruders stayed in the home.
