Peter Frauenhoffer, 29 of Des Plaines has been charged with armed robbery after allegedly following a woman from a coin shop and threatening her last Thursday at about 3:25 p.m.
Niles police said the victim, a 58-year-old Mount Prospect woman, noticed a car tail-gating her starting around the 9000 block of Golf Road as she drove eastward.

The woman gave the offender $300 and he fled in his vehicle. The woman provided police with its license plate number, and police took him into custody at his residence in Wheeling just after 9:15 p.m.
Niles police contacted the Cook County State’s Attorney's Office and Assistant States Attorney Sianis approved one count of armed robbery, a Class X felony.
The victim was not injured.
