Armed Robbery Details From Early Wednesday Emerge

One victim was a man sleeping in a car; the other was a man going into the vestibule of his residence.




Skokie police have released details on two of the three armed robberies which they had earlier said took place from Tuesday overnight into Wednesday.

The first incident took place on the 5000 block of Dempster Street, Skokie, between 3:10 a.m. and 3:18 a.m. Wednesday.

While the victim was sleeping in his vehicle, police said, the offenders struck him with a piece of wood and then reached into his vehicle and removed his iPhone.  

Police said three of the four offenders were described as male blacks, 6’0”, muscular build with short black hair.  One of the males was wearing a red t-shirt. The fourth offender was described as a female black, 16 to 18 years of age, 4’7”, chubby, with a noticeable gap between her front teeth.  She was wearing a black sports bra with a gray hoodie and men’s shorts.  The victim sustained minor injuries, according to the report.

The second armed robbery incident occurred on the 4700 block of Church Street, Skokie, between 2:45 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said that as the male victim entered the vestibule to his residence, two male black offenders, described as 20 to 21 years of age, 5’0” to 5’04”, displayed a hand gun and told the victim to give them his money.

The victim responded that he didn’t have any money.  The offenders said that it was just a prank and then left the area, according to the police statement.  One of the offenders was wearing baggy pants with holes in the knees and a blue plaid shirt.
