A 37-year-old Wheeling woman parked her son's car in a store parking lot in the 5600 block of Touhy, Niles, on June 28 at about 3:15, and went inside to shop with her 20-year-old son. When they came out an hour later, the car was gone. The car was paid off, according to the woman. Police entered it into a stolen car database.
Woman charged with theft of clothing
Reyna Nava, 34, of North Oakley Avenue, Chicago, was charged with retail theft, Class A, after a security officer at a store in Golf Mill Shopping Center, Niles, observed her concealing merchandise in a bag and walking out of the store. The security agent stopped her and recovered four women's tops, three men's shorts and one men's t-shirt, worth a total of $263. Her court date is Aug. 3.
