Cop Accused of Sexual Assault Must Be Reinstated
An arbitrator ordered the village of Niles to reinstate him pay 21 months of back pay.
A Niles police officer who was suspended without pay after being accused of sexual assult in January 2010 must be reinstated, an arbitrator ruled, according to the Journal & Topics.
The village of Niles also must pay the officer, Fotis Markadas, 21 months of back pay and benefits, the Niles Herald-Spectator wrote.
A waitress at a Niles bar told police Fotis, who was off-duty, had sexually assaulted her at the bar, but she never filed criminal charges, both newspapers said.
