Cops: Man Robbed, Battered Woman, 75, And Impersonated Police

An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

Joshua Groner, 32, of Lincolnwood was charged with Class 1 felony robbery, aggravated battery and Class 1 felony false impersonation of a police officer Oct. 10.

Morton Grove Police Commander Paul Yaras said a 75-year-old woman was taking $500 out of an ATM machine located inside the Bank of America at 8745 Waukegan Road, Morton Grove, when Groner grabbed her arm and said, "Police, give me the money."

He did not use a weapon, but bruised her arm while grabbing the money, and repeated that he was a police officer, though he did not wear or carry any part of a police officer's uniform, Yaras said.
