Credit Cards Stolen, Used While Victim Dined at Niles Restaurant

Someone stole her wallet while she was dining with friends at a restaurant, it appears, and used her credit cards within an hour to purchase more than $1,100 worth of goods, police said. An arrest is an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

A 27-year-old Chicago woman sat down to dine with friends at a Golf Mill restaurant at about 6:20 p.m. March 15, and hung her purse on the back of her seat, according to the police report. A short time later, she received texts from her credit card company alerting her to fraudulent usage of her card. She checked her purse and saw her $150 Coach wallet, with three credit cards and her Thailand ID in it, was gone.
