'Don't Hit Me In My Stomach, I'm Pregnant!'

The following information was supplied by the Niles police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Joshua Hadary, 31, of Niles was charged with domestic battery after police officers who arrived at his apartment on Oct. 28 at about 10:30 p.m. heard a female voice saying, "Don't hit me in my stomach, I'm pregnant!" The police separated Hadary and the woman who had spoken.

Hadary said nothing had happened, and the woman told officers that after she arrived home from work with her children, she and Hadary had been arguing about his consumption of alcoholic beverages earlier that evening. She said she had tried to leave the apartment but that he had stood in her way.

The woman said the argument was verbal only, but due to the statement police heard upon entering and other factors, police placed Hadary into custody for domestic battery. The victim refused medical attention. Hadary's court date is Dec. 2 at the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts.
