Driver, 36, Killed After Crashing Into Tree
The accident happened in the early hours of Saturday morning on Caldwell.
Timothy Thomas, 36, of the 5600 block of Marmora Street, Chicago, was killed in the early hours of Saturday morning in a single-vehicle accident, Niles police said.
He was driving southbound on the 8200 block of Caldwell Avenue in Niles and his vehicle struck a tree around 2:09 a.m., then rolled forward and struck a fence before coming to rest, according to police. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

NORTAF's Major Crash Assistance Team responded, at the request of Niles police, to investigate the accident. It is not known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office is investigating.
