Driver Attempts To Tow Wrong Mercedes

And in another case, a woman was charged with DUI. In these police incidents, an arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

In a dispute June 21 around 11 p.m. in a store parking lot in the 8300 block of Golf Road, a woman told police that a tow truck driver had gotten into her white Mercedes and was trying to tow it, according to the report.

The tow truck driver said it was a mistake, and another white Mercedes, which was the vehicle she was supposed to tow, was parked just a few spaces away, the report indicated. The tow driver said she was not given a license plate number of the car she was supposed to tow.

The victim said she wanted the incident documented with a police report; the tow truck driver said she would reimburse any damages, though there did not appear to be any, according to the report.

Woman charged with DUI on Greenwood

Annely Kagu, 34, of Des Plaines, was charged with DUI June 23 just after midnight when a police officer saw her driving 56 mph in a 35 mph stretch in the 9400 block of Greenwood Avenue, according to the report. The officer said he could smell the odor of alcohol on her breath, and she admitted to drinking two glasses of wine at a festival, police said. She showed impairment on field sobriety tests, the report indicated. She was also cited for speeding and transportation of open alcohol. Her court date is July 23 at the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts.
