Driver In Crash Had No License

She had never been issued one by Illinois or any other state.

Maria Flores, 29, of Des Plaines, was charged with driving without a driver's license on Sept. 26 when police determined she was at fault in a two-car crash in the 9000 block of Milwaukee Avenue, Niles, at about 9 a.m.

Police checked the Illinois Secretary of State database and found she had never been issued a license by Illinois or any other state. Her court date is Oct. 13 in the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts.

Leticia Martinez, 36, of West Addison Street, Chicago, was charged with DUI Alcohol after police saw her driving northbound in the 7700 block of Milwaukee Avenue, Niles, at 1:20 a.m. Sept. 25 without her headlights on.

Police noticed an odor of alcohol coming from the car and that a male passenger in the front seat had vomited on himself. When asked for her driver's license, Martinez could not locate her purse; the officer spotted it in the back seat. When asked where she was, she thought she was in Elmwood Park or Maywood. She refused to perform field sobriety tests and was booked at the police station. took the passenger to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital due to his high level of intoxication. Martinez' court date is Nov. 1.
