In a domestic disturbance Sept. 3 a little before 3 a.m., Galina Buckhout, 40, of Arlington Heights told Niles police she and her husband Jason Buckhout had been at a party in the 8400 block of Oleander, Niles, and that he had consumed alcohol and then left the party with the car keys, according to the report. Galina was able to take the keys away so he would not drive drunk; they argued, and he left on foot. When Galina phoned him to ask him to return to the party, she recounted Jason said he was going to jump into traffic and kill himself, the report indicated. Police located Jason walking at Dempster and Root. He said he had left to get fresh air, and had just decided to walk home. He denied saying he was going to kill or hurt himself, police said. The parties agreed to separate, and Jason took a taxi to sleep at a friend's house. Police issued domestic violence forms to both parties.
Vehicle stolen during overnight hours
A Des Plaines man reported that he had parked his vehicle in the 8500 block of Milwaukee Avenue Sept. 7 at 11 p.m., and the following morning it was gone, according to police reports. He told police it was paid for, and that family members had said they did not take it. A check of local tow truck companies showed they did not tow it. Police entered the vehicle into a state theft database.
