DUI Arrestee Had 4 Beers, 1 Wine In Car, Police Say

An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

Mike Frank, 28, of Laporte Avenue, Chicago, was charged with DUI after police stopped him Jan. 16 at 3:42 a.m. in the 7700 block of North Milwaukee Avenue. Police said he didn't stop at the red light while turning onto Milwaukee Avenue. He also changed lanes without signaling and cut off an officer's squad car, the report indicated, as well as crossing over the double yellow lines three times. After stopping him, police said they observed, on the vehicle's floor by the driver's side, one can of Icehouse beer, one can of Miller Genuine Draft beer, one can of Budweiser, one can of Bush beer and one bottle of Ghaza Pink Moscato wine. Police asked him to exit the car, and said he had to hold onto it for support. He showed impairment on field sobriety tests, according to the report. His court date is Feb. 27 in the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts. He was also cited for improper lane usage and illegal transportation/possession of alcohol.
