Employee Strikes Manager In Grocery Store

Fight started over cleaning rotisserie ovens. Information is supplied by the Niles Police department.

A dispute over cleaning rotisserie ovens used to cook chickens led to a fight in the middle of a grocery store in the 8500 block of Golf Road, Niles.

The 27-year-old victim, a manager, told police she had trained an employee to clean the rotisserie ovens the store uses to roast chickens. On Oct. 17, the employee asked her how to clean them, and when the manager told the employee she should already know how, the employee swore at the manager. The employee then allegedly pulled her hair and scratched her neck. That began a physical altercation in the store.
