Fire At Morton Grove Golf Course Not An Accident, Sheriff Says

The fire Monday destroyed 45 golf carts, which is 80 percent of the Chick Evans Golf Course's fleet, according to chicago.cbslocal.com.


A fire described as "suspicious," "likely intentional" and "not an accident" destroyed 45 golf carts at the Chick Evans Golf Course Monday, according to the Niles Herald-Spectator.  

The Morton Grove Fire Department was able to get control of the fire fairly quickly, according to Fire Chief Tom Friel. 

According to ChicagoFireMap.com, reports of the fire came in at 8:54 p.m., the Niles and Glenview Fire Departments assisted in fighting the fire, and the scene was turned over to the Cook County Sheriff's Department at 11:40 p.m.

About 80 percent of Chick Evans Golf Course's golf carts were destroyed, according to chicago.cbslocal.com.
