Gambling Spat Leads To Traffic Stop, DUI

A man was arguing with a female passenger about losing money at the casino. In another incident, a man drove 101 mph down Greenwood, was charged with DUI. An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

Nasanbat Batpurev, 39, of Chicago, was charged with DUI Dec. 19, just after 2:30 a.m., in the 7300 block of Harlem. Police were responding to a call of a battery in progress when they learned the offender had gotten into an SUV and was leaving a parking lot in that block, according to the report. Police stopped him, and they said he told them he had been having an argument with his female passenger, 30, about losing money at the casino. Police noticed an odor of alcohol on his breath, they said, and he told them he had drunk three glasses of wine. He showed impairment on field sobriety tests, according to the report.
