Help Needed To Find Missing Woman, Likely in Maine Township

Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart is asking for the public's help in locating Marcella Somerville, 68, who has a mental illness and may be in the Maine Township area, but is not familiar with it.

Somerville has been missing since May 9 after she traveled here from South Carolina to visit her Glenview-based sister, said sheriff's police, who are investigating her disappearance.

According to the sheriff's department statement, Somerville, who is diagnosed with schizophrenia, became upset when told she eventually would need to return home to South Carolina. She then fled the house and has not been seen since. Somerville, who is unfamiliar with the area, left without a vehicle or a cell phone. She possessed $300 in cash at the time of her disappearance. She is suspected to have headed to a local homeless shelter or a train station.

Sheriff Dart asks anyone with information about this missing person to call Sheriff’s Police at 708-865- 4896.
