A 78-year-old Niles man reported that between 4 p.m. Dec. 12 and 8:30 a.m. Dec. 13, someone took his 1995 Honda four-door car from a parking lot in the 9700 block of Fox Glen. He owns the vehicle and had the keys in his possession. Police entered it into a state theft database.
Offender takes $650 from purse in restroom
A woman, 57, reported to police that while in the restroom at a store at Golf Mill Shopping Center, she had hung her purse on a stall door. When she heard it fall, she discovered $650 cash was missing. She did not see the person who took it.

Thief returns to take more
After someone in the 7600 block of Milwaukee Avenue, Niles, on Dec. 9, the owner reported Dec. 13 that the copper pipes, which are used to operate the air conditioning unit, were taken. They were removed sometime between 2 p.m. Dec. 10 and 9 a.m. Dec. 13.
