Husband Charged With Battery For Slapping, Beating Wife

They were arguing over marital issues.

When police arrived at a home in the 6900 block of Howard Street, Niles, July 16 at about 4:30 a.m., they stopped Saat Hermiz from slapping and beating his 32-year-old wife. Both said they had been arguing over marital issues when the fight turned physical.

Hermiz pulled his wife by the hair onto the bed, climbed on top of her and began to slap her in the face. When the wife heard he was going to be arrested, she ceased cooperating with police, refused medical attention and counseling and would not allow police to photograph her injuries.
