48-Year-Old Woman Dies; Husband Punches Wife

In the domestic battery case, the couple has been married for two and a half years and has a son.

A 25-year-old Lincolnwood woman went to the home of her 24-year-old husband, on Ebinger Lane in Niles, to pick up their young son on Oct. 17 at about 8:30 a.m. The couple has been married about two and a half years and they are separated.

The husband tried to have a conversation with the wife and she was not interested. According to police, he became angry and began to push, punch and slap the wife in the face. The wife got away with the child and came to the Niles police station.

Police said she had visible injuries on her nose and redness on her cheek and the left side of her neck. She declined medical attention but police photographed the injuries. Police tried to locate the offender at his home and by phone but did not locate him. They gave the wife a domestic violence form and explained how to obtain an order of protection.
