Husband Threatens To Kill Wife

The couple has a history of domestic incidents, police said. Arrest information is provided by the Niles Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Ronald Starling, 44, of Island Lake was charged with domestic battery Jan. 15 after Niles police responded to a report of a domestic battery in progress in the 7400 block of Oakton, Niles. The responding officer saw a white SUV with its drivers side door open, and reported the couple was nearby, engaged in a fight over gas money and other relationship matters.

According to police, Starling had placed his hands over his wife's neck and throat, squeezed and said, "I'll (expletive) kill you, (expletive)." Police also said they learned the husband had struck the wife in the chest with his fist. Both parties were shaken up, police said, and had a history of domestic abuse in their relationship. Police took the offender into custody, issued domestic violence forms and forwarded a report to Niles Family Services. His court date is Feb. 17 in the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts.
