Local Doc Charged with Filming Nude Athletes

Ninos Danny Jando, of Skokie, was arraigned on Wednesday. He is charged with videotaping wrestlers who were showering at a Michigan Community College, prosecutors say.

 

A Skokie man is facing charges of videotaping male college wrestlers in a Muskegon Community College locker room and shower, according to Michigan Live.

Ninos Danny Jando, 34, of Skokie, is charged with three counts of felony invasion of privacy, three counts of capturing an image of an unclothed person without consent, according to the publication. Each charge is punishable by up to five years in prison. Jando, a licensed podiatrist with a practice in Chicago, is said to have recorded up to three different individuals, but prosecutors said there might be more victims.

Jando was arraigned Wednesday afternoon.

According to Channel 8 WOOD TV News, a local Michigan news station, a student wrestler said he saw Jando leave the shower area with a toiletry bag “that appeared to contain a camera lens. The student also saw a red light coming from the bag,” the news channel reported.

"The defendant actually hung a toiletry bag on a shower head and positioned the camera in a hole in the bag that allowed him to video tape other patrons without them knowing it," Chief Assistant Muskegon County Prosecutor Tim Maat told Channel 8 TV.

Jando has a practice at 1044 N. Francisco Ave., Chicago.
