Man Charged With Battering Female Relative
The woman told police she's in pain from the injuries.
Michael Green, 53, of Niles was charged with domestic battery after a female relative of his was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, and told police he had caused her injuries, on Monday.
The woman told police Green had struck her with his fists while she was in the kitchen of her home, and the police officer observed a large bruise on her right knee and leg, and another bruise on her left thigh. She said she was in great pain from the injuries.
When police interviewed Green, he initially told them the woman had been injured by falling down, then admitted he had hit her after an argument. His court date is March 9th in the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts

Offender steals jewelry
Someone stole multiple pieces of jewelry from the home of a 74-year-old woman in the 7700 block of Nora, Niles. She reported the crime Tuesday; the value of the jewelry is unknown.
