Man Found Deceased In Home On Ozark

He was ill, and brother checked on him twice a day.

Angelo Provenzano, 70, of the 8700 block of Ozark, Niles, was found deceased in his home on Saturday morning. His brother, who told police he checked on Provenzano twice a day, had come to the home that morning because Provenzano did not answer the phone. The brother said he had last spoken to Provenzano at about 5:30 p.m. Friday. Provenzano had diabetes, the brother said, and had complained of pain on Friday. Police contacted the medical examiner and released Provenzano to Mont Clare Funeral Home, 6901 W. Belmont, Chicago. 

Man charged with driving on a revoked license

Augustin Popa, 45, of Arlington Heights, was charged with driving with a revoked driver's license after police observed him driving 50 mph in a 35 mph zone of Milwaukee Ave., Niles, Friday. A dispatcher informed police he had a revoked driver's license. He was also cited for speeding and has a Feb. 4 court date in the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts.
