Man Hits Caregiver In Shower Dispute

The 53-year-old man hit a 30-year-old woman. An arrest is merely an accusation and is not evidence of a conviction.

On May 3 just before 8 p.m., a Niles woman who works as a caregiver for a 53-year-old Niles man living in the 8200 block of Oleander reported a dispute.

The caregiver said the man asked to take his shower for the evening, was told to use the upstairs shower, came downstairs with his pajamas to use the downstairs bathroom shower, and the caregiver told him for a second time to use the upstairs bathroom, police said. The man then came running down the stairs to use the first floor bathroom, and, according to the caregiver, began swinging his hands toward her, police said. The caregiver put her arms up to protect herself and as she did so the man struck her wrist. The victim said she had some pain, but did not want medical treatment. The offender told police he would remain calm.
