Man Lunged At Cars At Oakton And Waukegan Road, Police Say

An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

Angkham M. Souvongkham, 35, of North Kedzie Avenue, Chicago, was arrested on a warrant Sept. 7, just before 6:20 a.m., after Niles police were alerted he was lunging at cars in traffic at Oakton Street and Waukegan Road.

Initial reports said the man may have had an object, possibly a knife. However, an off-duty Skokie police officer passing by the area said he did not see a knife, according to the report. The officer said Souvaongkham was in the middle of the street lunging at cars. Souvaongkham said he was neither in the middle of the street nor lunging at cars, the report indicated. Niles police took him into custody and held him for the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Man Charged With DUI, Thinks He's In Oak Park

Alfred Figueroa, 27, of Elmwood Park, was charged with DUI Sept. 7 just after 3 a.m. at Octavia and Mulford. Police observed him driving along Milwaukee Avenue in the 8000 block and weaving within the inside lane, according to the report. At one point, he was driving on the wrong side of the street, the report indicated. Police stopped him and he presented his insurance card, but did not have his driver's license on him. The officer observed the odor of alcohol on his breath, the report said. When asked if he knew where he was, he said, "Oak Park." He showed impairment on field sobriety tests. His court date is Oct. 11 in the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts.
