Theft Of Pants, $4,000 Air Conditioner

Parrish Livington, 21, of Des Plaines was charged with retail theft Aug. 12 after a security agent for a retail store at Golf Mill Shopping Center said he took two pairs of pants and a shirt, valued at $79.97, and leave the store without paying. His court date is Aug. 24 in the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts.

A 78-year-old man who lives in an assisted living facility in the 7000 block of Newark reported Aug. 11 just before 11 a.m. that another resident, a 68-year-old man, had threatened him with a knife while he was in the elevator. Police interviewed the offender, who said he had brandished a hairbrush, not a knife. Police filed a report.

An employee of a retail store in the 9100 block of Golf Road reported Aug. 10 at 3 p.m. that someone had removed the air conditioning compressor and copper piping from the roof of the building in July. Replacing the unit will cost $4,000.
