Man Threatens To Rob Someone; Known To Carry Weapon

Woman received a phone call from the maker of the threat, and said he's a known drug addict and bi-polar.

A 52-year-old Buffalo Grove man called police Friday from a Niles restaurant in the 7900 block of Caldwell, saying his wife had received a phone call from a 30-year-old man, possibly from Round Lake. The person said he needed money and was planning to rob someone.

The threat-maker is known to be bi-polar, a drug addict and to carry a knife. He may be driving a silver Hyundai Sonata. The man who made the report, the threat-maker's father, said he had asked for the car back but the threat-maker did not return it. Niles Police notified Round Lake police and advised the complainant to contact Buffalo Grove police about the stolen car.

A 30-year-old Des Plaines woman reported Thursday, Aug. 4 that someone had used credit cards that had been stolen from her (and earlier reported stolen to the Park Ridge Police Department) at Golf Mill Shopping Center. Loss prevention personnel at the store where the cards were used planned to review video to try to identify the offender.
