Man Threatens To Shoot Neighbor For Noisy Snow Shoveling, Police Say

Residential Burglary 

  • Residential Burglary on the 7600 block of Kildare Avenue, between December 31st at 7:00 a.m. and January 1st at 1:10 a.m. Reported: 01/01/2014 An unknown person(s) gained entry to the front door of the home and ransacked two bedrooms. At this time it is unknown what was stolen. 
  • Residential Burglary on the 8100 block of Kilpatrick Avenue, on January 1st between 2:00 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. Reported: 01/01/2014 Unknown subjects kicked in the basement door and attempted to commit a burglary. As the door was being kicked in, the victim’s dog started barking and scared the subjects away. 

Burglary 

  • Burglary at 4954 Dempster Street, on January 2nd between 11:00 p.m. and 11:28 p.m. Reported: 01/02/2014 n unknown person(s) forced entry to the rear door and stole a television. 

Motor Vehicle Theft

  • Motor Vehicle Theft on the 8600 block of Trumbull Avenue, between January 1st at 10:00 p.m. and January 2nd at 8:20 a.m. Reported: 01/02/2014 An unknown person(s) by unknown means, stole a 1996 Acura Integra. 

Criminal Defacement of Property 

  • Criminal Defacement of Property at 3701 Oakton Street, on January 1st between 4:15 a.m. and 5:57 a.m. Reported: 01/01/2014 An unknown person(s) used spray paint to write “Happy New Year,” “N.Y.E.,” “Lowes,” “Moneybros,” and “13” on CTA trains. 
  • Criminal Damage to Property Criminal Damage to Property on the 8100 block of Kenton Avenue, between January 1st at 12:20 a.m. and January 2nd at 2:00 a.m. Reported: 01/02/2014 An unknown person(s) damaged a garden apartment window. 

Arrests

  • Swida, Richard J., 63, 4900 block of W. Gunnison, Chicago, was arrested on charges of Disorderly Conduct on the 9100 block of Kedvale Avenue, on 01/01/2014. Swida threatened to “shoot” a man because he was making too much noise while shoveling snow.
