MoGro Blotter: Drug Deal Foiled, Attempted Laptop Theft

Arrests

Brandon L. Godla, 26, and Elton A. Jacobson, 21, both of Morton Grove were apprehended by police on July 26 due to a report of a possible drug deal in progress in the 7900 block of Foster Avenue.  Police stopped the vehicle involved and found drug paraphernalia, cannabis, and a Xanax pill. Godla was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and Jacobson charged with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. No court date(s) were provided by police.

James R. Paszkiewicz, 19, of Glenview, was stopped for traffic violations on July 28 when officers smelled burnt cannabis coming from the vehicle in the 5600 block of Dempster. Police searched the vehicle and found multiple prescription pills that were not prescribed to Paszkiewicz.  He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and a court date is scheduled for August 22. 

David S. Philemon, 34, of Des Plaines, was involved in a traffic accident at Dempster and Lincoln on July 30, and police discovered he was driving on a suspended license. His court date is scheduled for August 15.

Mariam L. Sarkissian, 19, of Skokie, was charged with retail theft at Dominick's, 6931 Dempster, after taking 10 DVD's and concealing them in her purse on July 31. Her court date is scheduled for August 15. 

Miscellaneous

Attempted Theft: On July 25, in the 6900 block of Dempster, an unknown offender tried to sever the security cable of a laptop in Dominick's. The suspect was not able to carry away the laptop and fled the scene. 

Theft: On July 27, in the 6800 block of Dempster, an unknown offender took clothing, keys, hearing aids and a mobile phone from a locker while the victim worked out. 

Criminal Trespass: On July 28, in the 9000 block of Oleander, a resident reported an unknown offender standing on his porch, who then ran in the victim's back yard, and then back to the front yard before fleeing the scene. 

Theft from Motor Vehicle:

On July 30, in the 6800 block of Dempster, an unknown offender stole a credit card and cash from a vehicle while it was parked in a parking lot.

On July 31, in the 7300 block of Dempster, an unknown offender stole a wallet from a vehicle while it was parked in a parking lot.
