MoGro Police Blotter: Battery at the Bowling Alley, Telephone Threat, and Driving Duress

Officers arrested 12 people in the past week and logged eight incidents in the village.

Retail Theft Arrests

Victor Apiecczonek Jr., 19, of Chicago was charged with retail theft when store security saw him take one pair of gloves and three packages of razors without paying on April 14 at Menards, 6301 Oakton Ave.

Tahir Hrustic, 47, of Skokie was charged with retail theft when store security saw him hide two drill bits and leave the story without paying on April 14 at Menards, 6301 Oakton Ave.

Unlawful Drug Use Arrest

Mario Baratti Jr., 42, of Chicago was charged with unlawful use of “intoxicating compounds” on April 13, while at the local police station, located at 6101 Capulina Ave. Baratti Jr. was being questioned about a different issue when he “admitted to inhaling drugs into his body” before his arrival.

Driving Arrests

Thomas Bonner, 48, of Wilmette was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and with a suspended driver’s license on April 14 at the 7100 block of Dempster Street.

Efrem Schulz, 36, of La Habron, CA. was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license on April 15 at the 9100 block of Waukegan Road when police stopped him for traffic violations.

David Garcia, 25, of Chicago was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and without a valid driver’s license on April 17 at the 8100 block of Shermer Avenue, after police stopped him for traffic violations.

Robert De la Fuente, 25, of Des Plaines was charged with driving with a revoked driver’s license on April 21 at the 8000 block of Dempster Street after police stopped him for traffic violations.

Battery at the Bowling Alley

Five people were charged with battery after they tried to take alcohol from two people at Classic Bowl, located on 8530 Waukegan Rd. on April 18. When the two victims denied them alcohol, the individuals began physically fighting with the two victims, causing them injury. The five individuals include: Francois Pierre, 18, of Skokie; Tiara Pierre, 19, of Skokie; Sarina Davy, 18, of Evanston; Sanjay Ellis, 22, of Evanston; and Jeremy Starling, 20, of Evanston.

Trespassing

Someone entered another person’s car and threw around papers without taking anything on March 28 at 8234 Central Ave.

Someone entered another person’s house without permission at 9362 Oketo Rd. on April 16.

Theft

A female filled up at the gas station located at 7941 Golf Road and drove off without paying on April 12.

An unlocked bicycle was taken from the Metra bicycle rack at 8501 Lehigh Ave. and reported on April 18.

A “U-Haul” auto tow dolly was stolen at 9009 Waukegan Rd on April 20.

A wallet was stolen from an unlocked car at 6807 Dempster St. on April 20.

Telephone threat, broken window

A woman received a threat by the telephone when the caller said that if she did not talk to him he would “send someone over to the residence to ‘take care of her’” at 8610 Waukegan Rd. on April 14.

A glass window was broken in a shed at 9500 Normandy Ave. on April 18.
